Goldrick partners with Austmine to support global leadership for the METS sector

Goldrick has partnered with Austmine, the industry association representing Australia’s Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector, to support the appointment of its next Chief Executive Officer.

The partnership comes at a pivotal time for the METS sector, which sits at the forefront of mining innovation and plays an increasingly important role in shaping the future of the global resources industry. As competition intensifies and expectations grow around productivity, decarbonisation and technological advancement, leadership at the sector level is critical to how Australian capability is positioned and recognised internationally.

Austmine’s CEO will be a genuinely global-facing leader. The role extends beyond leading the organisation’s operations to advocating for the METS sector on the world stage — strengthening collaboration across industry, government and academia, and aligning diverse stakeholders around a shared ambition to promote Australian innovation, capability and competitiveness globally.

Goldrick’s appointment reflects its deep sector expertise and experience supporting organisations operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. The search process will focus on identifying a leader with the judgement, credibility and influence required to navigate competing interests, build alignment across boundaries, and lead with confidence in a highly visible role.

“Leadership at this level carries long-term consequences,” said Alex Goldrick, Managing Director at Goldrick. “This appointment is about supporting Austmine to identify a leader who can engage credibly across industry, government, academia and global partners — and who understands how to translate innovation and capability into sustained sector impact.”

The CEO will champion advocacy and collaboration across the METS ecosystem, execute Austmine’s strategic direction, and strengthen member engagement while elevating the sector’s profile internationally. The role requires a leader comfortable operating across policy, innovation and commercial environments, with the ability to influence, convene and represent the sector with authority and integrity.

The partnership aligns with Goldrick’s broader focus on leadership that makes a difference — supporting organisations at moments of transition, growth and increasing global responsibility, where the quality of leadership has a direct and lasting impact.

Further details about the appointment process will be shared in due course. For confidential enquiries, interested parties are encouraged to contact the Goldrick team directly.
