The Brief

Prominent Hill, part of OZ Minerals, required critical leadership appointments in a high-pressure environment. The need was urgent: fill two senior roles—a Mining Manager and a Technical Services Manager—while maintaining cultural alignment and operational momentum.

The Challenge

The hiring executive was managing multiple priorities and time was limited. Traditional recruitment could only meet the functional brief, but this assignment required deeper understanding—of both the leaders needed and the leadership style that would meet immediate needs, and deliver the future, working across different strategic horizons. This saw us engaging in targeted, high-impact conversations with the hiring executive, focusing on clarity and depth rather than volume. As well as interpreting the “unsaid”, we picked up on the hiring executive’s style, site culture and current and future needs.

Our model allowed a thorough candidate due diligence, combining rigorous reference checks with deeper, reflective conversations that surfaced leadership style, intent, and alignment.

Ultimately, we maintained a relational, long-term view of partnership, extending our support beyond placement.

Both senior roles were successfully filled.
